Low Budget Digital Fabrication

This was an experiment done at the University of Miami in a digital fabrication class. We designed an static but interactive façade which had light control and spatial features. Modeled in rhino with the though of fabrication we used standard lumber sizes and were able to create shop drawings to make all of cuts on a miter saw. The infill panels were generated with a voronoi script and inspired by the wings of a dragonfly. The section show in the photos is photographed in the Irvin Korach Gallery and some even show the amazing shadows cast by the panels. This as full volume would be amazing to hang out in and hide from the sun.
